BASIC RECORDING

NIKON D3100 and D3200

A short how-to on starting video recording, choosing the right quality,compression and focus on DSLR cameras

​

Turn on camera switch found at the top right.

Activate video mode:

Turn top at the top of the camera to “M”: Manual

On D3100: pull Lever over red button found next to the screen.

On D3200: Press “Lv” button found next to screen on the right.

​

Set up:

On D3100:

Press the “i” button on the bottom left next to screen to enter video recording settings.

Under quality: Choose image size and compression format.

RAW + F

RAW

Fine

Normal

Basic

Choose ISO: Auto/ hi 1/ hi 2 /100-3200

Choose size: S, M, L

Choose focus type and Automatic Focus Area mode:

Automatic Single Servo

Automatic Full time servo

Manual focus

For Auto Area mode–choose between: face priority/ Wide-area/Normal-Area/Subject-tracking

Choose resolution:

1080 @ 24 FPS

720 @ 30 FPS

720 @ 25 FPS

424 @ 24

Press the red dot button to record,

On D3200:

Press the “i” button on the bottom left next to screen to enter videorecording settings.

Settings are the same as the D3100 and there are more settings

Set White balance

Release mode

Metering

Exposure/Flash compensation

How to Begin Recording Video

​

1. Activate video mode:

Turn top at the top of the camera to “M”: Manual

On D3200: Press “Lv” button found next to screen on the right.

​

2. Setup:

Press the “i” button on the bottom left next to screen to enter video recording settings.

​

Under quality: Choose image size and compression format.

RAW +F, RAW, Fine, Normal, Basic

Choose ISO: Auto/ hi 1/ hi 2 /100-3200

Choose size: S, M, L

Choose focus type and Automatic Focus Area mode:

Automatic Single Servo,

Automatic Full Time Servo,

Manual focus,

3. Press the red dot button to record

How to Begin Recording Video

​

1) Turn on camera switch found at the top right.

​

2) With the direction pad select the camera icon and navigate to the end of the options list and enter into “Movie Settings”, Select frame size and rate:

a Frame rates and resolution listed above

​

3. Under the same menu select microphone options:

      - AIf connecting an external mic. A mic jack plug-in is              located on the left side of the camera.

       - Auto sensitivity is recommended

​

4. Press the Red Dot to begin recording

Pentax K-3 IIs (ID: 23)

How to Begin Recording Video

​

1. Turn switch on back to get to “video mode”Settings can be changed once in “video mode”

​

2. Press Shutter or red button to begin/stop recording

Canon EOS-5D Mark II (ID: 25)

How to Begin Recording Video

 

1. Turn the mode dial to M

2. Go to menu

under 6th tab to the right (2nd yellow)

Press on LV function setting.

Press on first option in top of LV func setting

Check the last, third option–Stills + movie, press SET

3. Go back in view/ movie settings

Set grid display to off

Set silent shoot to mode 1

Set metering timer to 1min

Set AF mode to Live Mode

Set movie Rec Size to one desired

  • If you are not using microphones set sound Rec to Auto

4. Close Menu pressing Menu button twice

5. Click Live view

Switch AF to MF on your lens

Set White Balance

Press INFO button to check all Video settings along with the Histogram

6. For best focus, zoom in first 10x (press magnify button twice) and use the joystick to select the part of the frame where you want to focus your lens manually

7. Pick a desired exposure and aperture

8. Set ISO settings by your needs, lower ISO number, less grain

9. You can pick a pre-set you would like to shoot with pressing a button

10. For Start and Stop, press the middle (SET) button on a dial

 

Press the red dot button to record

 

Sionyx Aurora 

 

For Video:

1. Rotate camera mode dial to “video camera”

2. Press shutter button

For Video:

1. Rotate camera mode dial to“camera”

2. Press shutter button
 

Invert Image:

1. Set camera

2. Long press “set” button

3. Toggle Invert

~includes brightness, overlay; night glow in the same location

Settings will remain until turned off again

How to Begin Recording Video

​

1. Turn on camera by sliding the panel on the front down

2. While in picture mode(not looking at stored photos), press the recording button.

3.Adjust the distance of the convergence of the lens using the slider on the top left of the camera

- To zoom, turn the dial on the top right, around the    shutter.

4. Press the shutter on the top of the camera to begin recording

Sony FDR X3000(Action Cam) 

How Record from Device:

​

1. Press power to turn on

2. Press Menu

Mode > shooting mode

Press shutter to enterpress again to begin recording

​

How to connect to cell phone

1. Download app via QR code

(app is called:Play Memories Mobile: Available on Battery Door)

2. Turn on Wi-Fi on the camera (in menu)

3. Follow on-screen directions in the app

​

Sony Action Cam Watch Viewfinder

​

  1. Press the menu button on the remote control while the camera is in shooting mode

  2. Press the UP button or DOWN button on the remote control to select (playback using the remote control

  3. Select the desired image by pressing the UP button or DOWN button.

  4. Press the REC/ENTER button of the remote control to start playback.    Press the REC/ENTER button again to pause playback.

To return to shooting mode:

1)On the Watch: Menu > Shooting Mode > record/Shutter to select

​
