**SERVICES FOR THE CNC LAB WILL BE SCHEDULED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS**
Students will only be scheduled if they have provided a working CAD file and material. Before coming into the lab for a technical request, students should have a basic understanding of CAD design through programs like (but not limited to) Rhino and should have an understanding in supply files, e.g. 3DM, IGES, STL etc.
Shop rate for the CNC machine is 30$ / hour and the HD polyurethane foam is $3 bd/ft/inch. File format should be in Rhino (3dm), no sketch-up files.
It is available to 2nd, 3rd and 4th years as well master students and professors.
During demanding times, students should fill out a a technical service request or directly email ahead of time to the prudent instructor Brant (brantluc@gmail.com)
This video should address some concerns students may have with the CNC machine's constraints. Some things should be considered when sculpting in digital to be printed with CNC and one of them are drill bits. Some angles are hard to cut and take a long time to. If there are any questions, please meet with Brant or send him an email.
